Colin Takes on Cycling Challenge for Charity

16th August 2017

HSKS Greenhalgh Managing Director Colin Peacock is preparing to cycle 200 miles as part of a charity bike ride to raise funds for My SmallHelp Nepal.

The bike ride is being organised by HSKS Greenhalgh client Esland Care and covers a total distance of 585 miles, starting at Esland's most northern children's home in Doncaster on 22 September and ending 10 days later at their most southern home in Kent.  Colin will be taking part in the first three days of the ride, which will see him travel from Doncaster to Nottingham, via Chesterfield and Buxton, a total of 200 miles.

HSKS Greenhalgh are also proud to be sponsoring the Bike Ride, together with Flint Bishop and Yorkshire Bank, as well as a gala dinner taking place in October, which will also raise funds for My SmallHelp Nepal.

Taking time out from his intense training schedule, Colin explains: "Some of the younger participants are doing the whole 10 days and 585 miles but at the ripe old age of 57, I am not sure that my body is up to that much punishment!

"Personally I am hoping to raise £800.  The money will go towards finishing building a school in the mountains outside of kathmandu, providing access to education for disadvantaged children."

You can sponsor Colin at his Just Giving page and read more about Esland Care's fundraising efforts for My SmallHelp Nepal here.
