Philip Hanson

Qualifications: FCA
Born and educated in Derby, Philip graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge, with an honours degree in Law and History. He then trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Cooper-Parry of Derby before joining Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) London in 1973.
Philip worked with PWC in Yugoslavia and Iran before returning to the UK and PWC's Nottingham office. He subsequently joined Derby firm Harrison & Sedgwick, becoming a Partner 1986. In 1997, the firm merged with Kultaran Singh & Co.
Philip enjoys all aspects of tax planning and holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate.
Philip is actively involved in his local community being Vice-Chairman of his Parish Council, a Trustee of various charities and Chief Executive and General Secretary of Midland District Miners’ Fatal Accident Relief Society.
